This week has been very busy, emotional, up and down. It was not always good things but, when I look back on it, always I got what I needed.
Monday night I realized that I had a leak under my kitchen sink and had 1/4 inch of water under my sink. I discovered the leak was coming from my garbage disposal. A friend said that he would come and change it out for me on Wednesday. Thank God for good friends for it was through one of them that I got what I needed.
Last week in The Master Key Experience, Mark had us do an exercise where we wrote on thirty or more index cards successes we have had, things we like about ourselves, things we did right, good characteristics we possess, and some affirmations. We were to put one thing on each index card, and we were to split the cards into two piles. It was hard at first, but the more I wrote, the more things came to me. Remember the Law of Growth? Well, my memory of the good things about me grew when I focused on them. I keep one pile in my purse and one by my bed.
I was so glad I did that exercise because they came in handy when I spent time this week with a friend who was in need of support. There was not a lot I could do other than be there for her. I had not taken anything with me to read or concentrate on, but I had those cards in my purse. I was also able to share that exercise with her and with others this week for when they are needing good things to think on. By doing that exercise, I got what I needed.
When I got back home, my mom called and said she was feeling sick and I had to call her assisted living facility to have them go check on her. I am so thankful that Mom is in a place where I can have people go check on her when I need them too.
Later that night, I ended up having to call 911 for myself because I miscalculated the amount of carbohydrates I had eaten and gave myself 6.5 units too much insulin. My blood sugar started dropping and dropping fast. I was headed for a diabetic coma and death. I have been Type 1 Diabetic for twenty years and I have never had to call the paramedics because of a problem with my blood sugars. When I called 911, I got an operator who happened to also be Type 1 Diabetic and she knew everything I was talking about. I got what I needed.
The next day I was just so tired that I messed up. I was late to a zoom doctor’s appointment because I absolutely forgot it. I was able to see my doctor even though I was late. Again, I got what I needed.
Friday afternoon, I started a fire in my fireplace and forgot to open the damper, so I had smoke all over my house. The smoke alarm was going off, the alarm company was calling, and I had a roaring fire in the fireplace with all the doors and windows wide open. That meant the fire did nothing to warm my house.
Then Friday night I plugged in and turned on the space heater in my bedroom and started smelling an electrical burn. My heater was shot and unusable and all I could think was that my alarm was about to go off and the alarm company would be calling again! (It didn’t.) To top it all off, today I realized that I did not write my blog post which was due last night. π±
My idea of a good week is one where there is no stress or drama. Well, that has not been this week! I was reminded of the song by The Rolling Stones, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Check out the video “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” along with the lyrics here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krxU5Y9lCS8
I wanted a week free from stress. I always want my life free from stress.
I didn’t get what I wanted, but I got what I needed!!!

Oh Linda, that was some week, great work on focusing on your cards and staying positive. Funny how you should mention my fav band of all time”The Rolling Stones” I actually saw them in concert. I am so glad you are still here!!
Roz, I am so glad I am here too. It is helping me more than you know. I love The Rolling Stones. So great that you got to see them.
Great Blog, and certainly a nice way to end your week by reviewing the good things that occurred. Crazy thing, I wrote up those gratitude cards last week, but obviously haven’t been reviewing them because I’ve lost track of where I placed them! Thanks for the reminder, and I will either find them or write new ones. π
Thank you Ron. I try to always bring up the good things. Those cards saved my bacon last week. So glad I had them with me.
So wonderful how you were able to find the good in all that happened this week!
Thanks Nicole. There is always something good to focus on. Sometimes it is harder to see & I have to work harder to find it.
Yes, Linda, you got what you needed. Good for you. From your blog rover friend John
Seems I always get what I need John. My Higher Power just works that way.
