A Different Week
This week has been very different and difficult. It has not been a different week in The Master Key Experience, just in my life.
I got a call from Momβs Assisted Living Monday evening and they had to rush her to the hospital. Her blood pressure was 208/98 and heart rate in the 40s. By the time I got to the hospital her BP had shot up to 238/110.
Needless to say, Mom has been in the hospital for the past five days. (I have been here too because she has dementia, and I am her Medical POA.).
Yesterday Mom had surgery to replace the battery in her pacemaker. Now her BPs are running between 124/78 & 158/90. Her heart rate is staying at a constant 60 beats per minute. I am so grateful that she is still with me.
How The MKE Helped With A Different Week
As you can imagine, this week has been very stressful. I was working on adrenaline most of the time. Then when we finally figured out what was going on, I moved to weariness and then to exhaustion. I was able to use some of the things I learned in The Master Key Experience to help me get through it.
When I went to the hospital, I did not have time to pack a lot of stuff to go with me. I wasn’t even sure we would be staying overnight, much less five days. I did take my copy of The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino, my stack of flip cards, my DMP, and the definitions of the Seven Laws of the Mind.
So, what did I do while there? I tried to stay on schedule for my readings daily, but I soon found that I was doing really good if I got to go through everything once at night. Just having the book there brought back all the things I have been reading over the past few months. I remembered that my mom was a rare a beautiful gift of God and that I should great each person that I meet with a smile and love in my heart.
The thing that helped the most was the flip cards. Unfortunately, I did not bring any blank ones with me to continue recording, but I was able to pick them up several times a day and flip through them. Those cards reminded me of all that I had to be grateful for. They reminded me that there is always a reason to be grateful.
Conclusion
I hope when you are having a different week and a difficult time that you will be reminded that there are always things to be grateful for and you can make people’s day just by greeting them with love in your heart.
